Usually the graduate's mother would be sitting in the stands beaming with pride and congratulating her daughter on receiving her undergraduate degree. For one Jackson State University senior, she and her mother will be next to each other in the commencement line next week.

Hard work, dedication, and determination were key character traits for the 282 students who will graduate with honors from Jackson State University in the 2008 commencement exercises. Shunda Bogan, a senior finance major from Newton, Miss., is one of the top two students in the College of Business.

Final exams can be one of the most stressful times of the semester for college students. Stress can cause health problems and, in extreme cases, death. Alisha Evans, junior graphic design major from San Diego, Calif., said "I am a little stress because I am trying to finish all my projects and extracurricular activities in a timely manner, so that I can maintain my grades and also keep my scholarship, I am staying up late nights and getting up early mornings.

Taken 193 overall, Johnson was the lone player drafted from the Southwestern Athletic Conference. NFL.com heralded Johnson as one of the draft class' fastest receivers, after he ran a 4.
